Our members Euromena Consulting held their first edition of the Euromena Awards, a contest for African innovative start-ups with projects using new technologies and impacting the continent. It occurred on the 24th of November in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire.

More than 200 entrepreneurs registered, operating in various sectors such as agriculture, environment, education or microcredit, and coming from more than 36 different African countries, especially Côte d’Ivoire, Nigeria, Kenya, Uganda, DRC, Benin and Cameroun.


Euromena Consulting selected 9 finalist candidates, coming from Côte d’Ivoire, Kenya, Nigeria and Uganda, with projects in agriculture, healthcare, Mobile financial services, solar energy and postal sectors : WeFly Agri, CinetPay, Uthabiti, TRASH2CASH LTD, MPost, LIFI-LED Côte d’Ivoire, LishaBora, Djonanko and Hapa Cash.

The 9 finalists had to present their project (in live or in videoconference) in front of a professional jury composed of experts in the field: an incubator (Sadamoudou Kaba, Head of Department of Orange Fab CI), an investor (Hichem Ghanmi, Director of AfricInvest group), a microcredit agency (Jean-Luc Nzoubou, Partnership Manager at Advans CI),  an international institutions member (coordinator of Positive Planet International in Côte d’Ivoire), Euromena Consulting (Fayçal El Darwich, founder and serial-entrepreneur) as well as an Ivorian entrepreneur (Lamine Barro, creator of the start-up Etudek) and an influencer (Cyriac Gbogou, creator of the coworking space O’Village in Abidjan).


The three laureates, hard to choose for the jury, received respective funding envelopes of €5,000; €3,000 and €2,000, and the first laureate will also win a 6-month customized support by Euromena Consulting, helping them make their project grow.

The start-up offers 3 solutions via their application: an interactive map of agricultural plantations, achieved through images from drones, their remote monitoring thanks to IoT sensors, as well as a data analysis with linked advice and predictions.


  1. CinetPay (https://www.cinetpay.com/accueil)

It offers a multi-operator “Mobile Money” payment platform, enabling users without banking accounts to have access to electronic payment methods.


  1. Uthabiti (https://uthabiti.org/)

It is a web and mobile platform that permits users to consult doctors and other health auxiliaries online, as well as order prescribed or non-prescribed medicines from pharmacies, and have them directly delivered at home.
